July 4th commemorates the adoption of the Declaration of Independence establishing the United States of America, and declaring that the thirteen colonies were no longer subject to (and subordinate) to the monarch of Britain, King George III, and were now united, free, and independent states. This celebration is a great analogy to what Jesus accomplished for us on the cross.
